Great Hera! It’s Wonder Woman’s Trainwreck Pilot!

All that’s missing is a Voice Over saying “Wonder Woman’s back!  AND SHE’S NOT HAPPY!!!”

So, my first thought is the super speed looks kinda cool.  The leaping actually looks like the original HG Peter art.  And that’s all I have to say that’s nice.

I won’t say much about the costume, because everybody and their brother has already chimed in about it on the interwebs.  But, I will talk Amazonian accessories.  The bracelets, belt, and tiara look SO CHEAP!  Holy Molded Plastic!  The tiara looks particularly painful.  No wonder Ms. Palicki looks as though she needs an exorcist when speaking to the officer.  (More on that in just a second)

And while I’m talking about Amazonian accessories, it’s a Golden Lasso, not a Golden Garrotte.  And, after leaving the guy a quadriplegic after lassoing him by the neck and giving a super human yank, she jabs him in the neck with a hypodermic.   Suspension of disbelief (not to mention heroic activity) just flew out the window.  When the police arrive, we get a little Law & Order dialogue between Wonder Woman and the officer.  Lawyer up?  I can only imagine Stabler and Benson trying not to break up laughing.

In the second part of the above clip, I’m surprised how good the costume (with shorts) looks in the long shot.  Again…the only nice thing I have to say.

“Show me where the other patients are quarantined and NOBODY ELSE GETS HURT”  She’s issuing threats?  What bothers me most is that Wonder Woman doesn’t fight Offensive.  She’s a messenger for peace.  Attack her, and you will get your butt handed to you, but her purpose is not to whoop butt and be intimidating. I want to say it was Alex Ross (I could be wrong) who said something like: she won’t hesitate to snap your wrist, but only after warning you twice to drop the gun.

Wonder Woman doesn’t impale people.  Impaling isn’t the American Way.  The American Way is to deflect the bullets with your bracelets, see to it that the shooter is thrown in jail, and then hope that he drops the soap in the shower.

Truth.  Justice.  The American Way?  What you talkin’ bout Willis?  Instead of giving the character more dimension, having her show a warm and fuzzy side in the hospital only makes her come off more unstable than before.

“Wonder Woman isn’t vulgar!”  PREACH, Tracie Thoms, PREACH!!!

You know what else Wonder Woman isn’t?  A whiny baby. Cowboy up or go back to the Island! Then again, MAYBE that’s why this version of Wonder Woman is in Man’s World. Her sister Amazons got tired of her moaning and VOTED her off the Island!

FURTHERMORE, Bi*ch Please!

Having exhausted my rant, I want to say the following.  Adrianne Palicki is a talented and beautiful actress.  The same is true for Tracie Thoms, who’s one of my absolute favorites!  (If you haven’t seen her as Joanne in RENT FILMED LIVE ON BROADWAY or RENT the Movie, you are missing out!) They were just given a REALLY bad script to work with.
