DRAGON*CON 2011 PART TWO!!

I had too many pictures from the weekend for one post, so here’s part two!

George Perez telling the cos-players how much he loves them!  No, really!!!

I was so geeked out to see him there.  As he walked past me, I stopped him and told him how much I loved his work.  Such a nice man!

I loved this Hawkman costume!  I like taking pictures when someone’s not posing, or is in between poses.  They always seem to turn out much more interesting.

Two days in a row, I parked next to the Georgia Ghostbusters Ecto Response Vehicle.  I wasn’t even stalking them!

Nova and Magneto swapping helmets!

Joker and Black Canary!

The Green Lantern Corps.

Watch out humans, Magneto’s up to no good!

Marvel Maniacs in between poses.

Emma Frost was standing behind me in the line to meet Stan Lee.  In real life, she’s recently retired from 25 years in the military!

Her niece usually goes to conventions, and had planned to attend Dragon*Con this year, in this costume, but recently suffered a traumatic brain injury.  Being a wonderful auntie, she attended in her niece’s absence and got a picture with Mr. Lee!

Great Nightwing costume and mask!

Friday afternoon, I ran into a group of My Little Ponies!  They were a total hoot, interacting with each other, pointing to maps, and trotting around.

It made me happy to see somebody as Red Tornado!  Also, love Martian Manhunter’s makeup.

I think this is the first Spider-Woman costume I’ve seen!  Loved it!

Another Great Spidey & MJ!

Vision and Phoenix!  You can’t really tell in the photo, but his cape was latex, and looked fantastic in the light.

The first Nova costume I’ve seen.  FANTASTIC!

Saturday’s DC photoshoot.  Only got a couple snaps of this, as I was trying to get to Gareth David Lloyd’s panel on time…Wasn’t early enough to get a seat.  E for effort.

Rocky Balboa!  This guy is RIPPED! The sun was so bright, I almost didn’t get this picture at all, but because of the shadows, you can’t tell the guy has an 8 pack.

Plastic Man’s goggles are insane!  Again, Martian Manhunter’s make up rocks.  And a shoutout for a great Hawkgirl costume!

GL and Star Sapphire in the Marriott

The Seventh Doctor

Doctors Eleven and Nine

Cap and Bucky!

On a personal note, I lost a personal super hero the day before Dragon*Con began.  Having the distraction of people in costumes, as well as meeting Stan and Sylvester, probably kept what’s left of my sanity intact.

My friend Brandie passed after an almost two year battle with a cancer so rare that doctors didn’t have a name for it.  Initially given a few months at best, Brandie defied the odds and surprised doctors at every turn.  They said the amount of pain medication she was given would have knocked out a line backer  Through it all, I never once heard her complain.  Her courage and positive attitude will always be an inspiration.  Thank you for being a friend!
