First thangs first! Welcome to The Articulation Station! I will be doing my best to give you honest and fun toy reviews, well… um honestly I am toy crazy and usually can’t find much wrong with a lot of modern action figures and toys but when I do you you can bet I will bring it to your attention and call out the perps! You can expect G.I. Joe, Marvel Universe, Transformers and Star Wars action figure and toy reviews, mostly new, but I will throw in some vintage finely aged toys from time to time as well. Of course if there is something you would like to see reviewed drop me a line, I may have the toy or it may be something I have been wanting to check out and your request will give me the perfect excuse to purchase it! (My wife will hate you for it!)

The Facts

  • Only African American member of the original 1982 GI Joe team.
  • Head of a Detroit street gang before joining the army.
  • Served on the same LRRP* as Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow in Southeast Asia.

*Long Range Recon Patrol

Sculpt/Paint

FOLLOW THE JUMP TO READ THE REST OF The Articulation Station!!

As with most of the Pursuit of Cobra/30th Anniversary figures we are treated to a new head sculpt for Sgt. Stalker including a nicely detailed dread locked pony tail, shnazzy goatee, and a steel jawed scowl that would make Derek Zoolander jealous! (Detroit Steel anyone?) Unfortunately he does suffer from a bit of “Zombie” eyes other than that, great head sculpt! The body is recycled from Pursuit of Cobra Snake Eyes (v54) with a realistic camo paint app. Buckles belts and holsters are nicely detailed and painted accordingly. The hands are curiously sculpted a little too open and can cause difficulty with certain poses.

Articulation

Hasbro is getting better and better at articulating 3-3/4″ figures and I am surprised it has not made its way into their other lines (Marvel Universe and Star Wars). Sgt Stalker features the latest and greatest tilt-able wrist articulation along with over 12 other points of articulation. You can really get some good action poses out of him.

Accessories

  • Handgun with removable silencer
  • SIG Sauer Handgun
  • M32 SMG
  • Machete
  • Tactical Knife
  • Anti Armor Knife
  • Web Gear (not pictured above)
  • Figure Stand (not pictured above)

Pros

  1. Great face sculpt and aggressive look.
  2. Tried and true body parts with excellent camo and detail paint apps.
  3. No lack of accessories here!

Cons

  1. Zombie eyes!!!! ahhhh! Stalker is coming for you Barbara!
  2. Two handguns and one holster… do soldiers carry guns in their waistbands like common thugs?
  3. Hands are sculpted very wide open and will make it hard to hold weapons over the life of this figure.

Overall this is a great update to an original Joe team member, while the dreadlocks are not a Sgt. Stalker mainstay they are an interesting modernization to him, I prefer the 25th anniversary version myself, but this 30th anniversary is a close second and worth a buy for any fan or collector!

And now you know…
