Toys From The Batcave: Corgi Super Cars

So, I was reading Wonder Woman #231 the other day (volume 1, thank you very much) and came across this ad for Corgi Super Heroes cars!

I had most of these at some point when I was little.  The silver Super Van I remember getting new.  The others were either hand me downs from my sisters and friends or birthday presents.

I’m pretty sure I never had The Penguin’s Car, Batcopter, and Police Car.

What I find funny in retrospect is that the Joker would drive around in an ambulance emblazoned with his face.  Do you think he went to the grocery or 7-11 in that?  Then again, do you think Super Villains do their own grocery shopping?  They probably delegate that to their henchmen.

And do you think modern day henchmen use that as a job title?  Perhaps they prefer Personal Assistant.  This also makes me wonder if henchmen get any kind of benefits.  One would certainly hope they’d get medical and dental.  It would seem they’re always getting socked in the mouth by Batman.  You KNOW they end up needing some serious dental work after that.

Furthermore, why does Wonder Woman need a sports car when she has the Invisible Jet?  Why does Superman drive around in a van?  I can kind of understand Captain Marvel having a muscle car.  I mean, it’s a muscle car.  They’re just cool.  And really, he’s a child in the body of a man.  It doesn’t matter that he can fly, he’ll still want a really great car.

We are at a total loss for more info here.
